Shannon treated for this meal, even though I didn't necessarily crave the Pita Pit. "I have a coupon," she exclaimed, "and it's your birthday." All the more reason why I should be forced into eating something I'm not a fan of, right? (FYI – I am NOT into eating veggies.) I relented, as usual, and we went to the Pita Pit.
I was pleasantly surprised. It was an awesome experience. The cashier was very friendly and helped us understand the whole process. (The concept is similar to Subway, not the rocket science I make it out to be.) The owner was there and personally grilled our chicken.
Shannon ordered a Santa Fe-something-or-other that I wouldn't eat. I had grilled chicken, bacon, cheese and ranch. Everything tastes better with ranch! I even opted for black beans on my Pita. It was delicious - and I didn't even have to eat veggies! I was so happy I tried it.
When we were all done, we realized that “the Pit” (Does anyone else think of The Peach Pit from 90210?) is eco-friendly too because their pitas are served in a paper wrap only - no dishes, no plates, no disposable utensils, nothing. It was fantastic! We tossed our paper sleeve and napkin and walked out the door with our drinks, chatting about the large sign on the trash can encouraging us to recycle.
We’ll be back, especially if Shannon has anything to say about it. She signed up for the “Pit Card,” a points reward card. That girl loves a good deal!
